What makes Thrive unique is the culture and quality of our team. With nearly a decade of research and thousands of hours working with students, we’ve transformed this life-giving culture into practical workbook tools. Our workbooks equip tutors to go beyond subject help and become Academic Coaches. We often explain our approach by referring to Abraham Maslow. The American psychologist was best known for his Hierarchy of Needs, which explains human motivation through different levels of growth.
While Maslow’s theory has been critiqued and adapted, his basic framework is still valuable. Recognizing different levels of need is essential for real growth. At Thrive, we’ve developed our own Pyramid of Needs to share with families. Most tutoring focuses only on “head” knowledge to help students pass a class. Our workbooks and Academic Coaching resources go deeper. We develop students at more foundational levels of the pyramid. Our Workbooks have been designed to target these often-overlooked areas of development. You can preview these tools below and then ask a manager about integrating them into your tutoring!
